United States Vice President JD Vance has announced the birth of his son, revealing that both the newborn and his wife, Usha Vance, are in good health.
The Vice President shared the news in a statement released on Sunday, expressing appreciation to the medical personnel who assisted during the delivery and celebrating the newest addition to his family.
Vance disclosed that the baby, named Alec Neel Vance, was born earlier in the day.
He said his wife and their newborn son were doing well, adding that their three older children were excited to welcome their younger brother into the family.
“We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning.
“Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother.”
The Vice President also commended the medical teams at the Walter Reed Medical Centre and the White House Medical Unit for the care and support they provided throughout the delivery.
He described the healthcare professionals as a blessing to his family and expressed deep gratitude for their commitment.
“The incredible military doctors and staff members of Walter Reed Medical Centre and the White House Medical Unit have been a blessing.
“We are deeply thankful for all they have done for our family,” Vance stated.
The birth marks the fourth child for JD Vance and his wife, Usha, who were married in 2014.
The couple had previously welcomed three children before the arrival of their latest son.
Vance rose to national prominence following the publication of his bestselling memoir, Hillbilly Elegy, which chronicled his upbringing and explored the social and economic struggles of working-class communities in the United States.
He was later elected Vice President of the United States alongside President Donald Trump and has remained one of the administration’s most prominent figures while balancing the demands of public office with family life.
Following the announcement, congratulatory messages poured in from supporters, political associates and public officials, many of whom extended their best wishes to the Vice President, his wife and their growing family.
