BREAKING: Tinubu Names Fayose REA Chairman

President Bola Tinubu has appointed former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose as Chairman of the Board of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) as part of 26 new appointments across 10 federal government agencies and commissions.

The appointments were announced in a statement issued in Abuja by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who said all the appointments take immediate effect.

According to the statement, Fayose will chair the REA Board alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta, who were appointed as members and non-executive directors. The agency’s Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and three previously appointed executive directors complete the board.

President Tinubu also appointed Major General Junaid Bindawa as Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission.

Former House of Representatives member Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas was named Secretary of the commission, while Dr Ogbole Ene Lilian, Oladele Olatubosun and Yakubu Umar Barde were appointed as commissioners representing Benue, Oyo and Kaduna states, respectively.

Other members of the commission include Dr Mai Adamu Yau, Ginika Florence Tor, Engineer Lawrence Okoh and Bello Morenike Iyabode.

The President also redeployed Tosin Johnson Adeyanju from the National Lottery Trust Fund to serve as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission.

In addition, Dr Abuh Mohammed was appointed Director-General of the National Population Commission, while Dr Akinola Odeyemi became the Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET).

Dr Anthony Inalegwu Godwin was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission, while Engineer Julius Oloro was named Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), replacing the late Dr A.R. Kamal.

Tinubu also constituted the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission with Dr Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as chairman and appointed Shuni Muhammad Dahiru as Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education.

The President further appointed Gisaor Vincent Iorja as Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority, replacing Mathias Byuan, who resigned to contest the Benue State governorship election.
