Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, OPHK, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF, and other security agencies have killed at least 12 Boko Haram and Islamic State, West African Province, ISWAP, fighters in a series of coordinated operations in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State.
Credible military sources confirmed to Zagazola Makama that the recent long-range tactical raids took place from Friday to Saturday in Dalakaleri, Tamsu Ngamdu, Loskori Kura and Gaza communities in Mafa Local Government Areas.
The troops engaged the fighters in an intense gun battle, killing at least 12 terrorists in Loskori Kura community during the operation.
According to the statement, items recovered include six AK-47 rifles, eight loaded magazines and cache of assorted drugs.
The counter-insurgence expert said some of the insurgents were seen receiving treatment for wounds sustained in the earlier clash with troops.
Sources also added that the operations had far reaching disruptive effects on the insurgents mobility and logistics in the area.
