The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) on Wednesday conferred a merit award of matron of PCRC to Mrs Edith Ajah, Director, Journals and Procurement Department, Senate.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that PCRC is an intelligent gathering body set up to help the Nigerian police in the fight against crime.
Conferring the award, the Chairman, PCRC Lugbe, Mr Chukwuemeka Iwunna, said that the award of matron was in recognition of Mrs Ajah ‘s contributions in making the society safe and secure especially Lugbe area of Abuja.
Iwunna who described the awardee as a golden fish, urged her to continue to do her best in making the country especially Lugbe safe.
“We have been watching your roles in making Lugbe safe, we urge you to continue in that regards so that our society will be completely secured,” he said.
Also speaking, Amb. Godwin Ehochi, Vice Chairman, PCRC congratulated Mrs Ajah, assuring her of access to all police stations in the country.
Ehochi therefore admonished her not to relent in her ebullient and laudable building a safe and secured nation in line with the mission of the Nigerian police.
Responding, Mrs Edith Ajah, Director Journals and Procurement expressed gratitude to the membership of PCRC for recognising her roles in making Lugbe and Nigeria safe.
Ajah said that she was most elated with the award as she promised not to let the PCRC and the Nigerian Police down.
