Former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, has commended the All Progressives Congress (APC) for what he described as a remarkable demonstration of unity, internal democracy, and political maturity at its 8th National Convention held in Abuja.

Ochei praised the peaceful and widely accepted consensus process that led to the re-election of Nentawe Yilwatda as National Chairman, alongside other members of the party’s National Executive Committee.

He noted that the overwhelming endorsement by delegates reflects renewed confidence in the party’s leadership and a shared commitment to strengthening its progressive ideals.

As a member of the Convention’s Ceremonial, Programme and Protocol Committee, Ochei described the exercise as a defining moment for the APC, highlighting its institutional strength and readiness to deepen democratic governance.

He also expressed strong confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, affirming that the administration remains on track to deliver transformative reforms that will drive sustainable national development.

Speaking on developments in Delta State, Ochei commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for successfully hosting the 2026 South-South Congress in Asaba, as well as the orderly and exemplary conduct of Delta delegates at the national convention.

According to him, these developments underscore the state’s strategic importance and firm commitment to securing decisive victories for the APC in the 2027 general elections.

Ochei also played an active role in the Delta State elective congress held on March 3, 2026, at the Cenotaph in Asaba, where he moved the motion for the dissolution of the State Executive Council, paving the way for the emergence of new leadership under Solomon Arenyeka through a consensus-driven process.

Reaffirming his reputation as a seasoned grassroots mobiliser and statesman, the President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation emphasized his enduring ability to build consensus, strengthen institutions, and inspire collective action for the common good.

He stressed that his leadership style remains anchored on discipline, inclusivity, and a results-driven approach—qualities he continues to deploy in promoting unity within the party and advancing sustainable development across Delta State and beyond.
