NTAC Christian Fellowship celebrates Yakub at 57, describes him as God-sent

The Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC) Christian Fellowship has celebrated Dr Yusuf Yakub, the Director-General (D-G) of NTAC as he turned 57 years old, describing him as a God-sent to the Corps.

A statement signed by Ojo Olubunmi, Head, Information and Public Relations of the corps on Thursday in Abuja, disclosed that the event held on Wednesday in Abuja.

According to Olubunmi, the D-G came at a time the corps needed to be rescued from what remained of the once glorious organisation, saying that the staffers were full of praises to President Bola Tinubu for the appointment of Yakub.

Amb. Bolaji Akinremi, Chaplain of the Fellowship in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the prayer session, described the D-G as a man of impactful leadership who has continued to lead with wisdom, passionate excellence and humility.

Akinremi said that he had closely worked with the NTAC’s D-G since his time as the Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and had since discerned that wherever yakub led, he rallied people of honour and devotion who totally put their trust and unwavering beliefs in him.

He said that he was not surprised at the D-G’s sterling performance at the corps, where he has turned things around in less than two years.

Akinremi also commended President Tinubu for identifying a performer for a place so many Nigerians had thought no longer existed.

“Wherever you have served in this country, you did so with honour and capacity. Our prayer is that God will bless you at all times and promote you beyond our very imagination.

“We know for certain that you deserve to be in higher places, God will lift you higher so that men and women of our country will benefit from the leadership qualities and the caring heart He has bestowed on you,’’ he prayed.

Amb. Yakubu Ahmed, Director of Administration, led staffers and well-wishers to usher Yakub into the venue, showing a testament to the strong bond and camaraderie spirit that exists within the corps.

Responding, the D-G expressed deep gratitude to God for the gift of life and good health.

He thanked Mr President for the opportunity to serve the nation and promised his best efforts and contributions to Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He applauded the NTAC workforce for their commitment, professionalism and unwavering support in driving the Corps’ mission and the 4-D Foreign Policy Initiative of this administration, describing the gesture he had received as both humbling and uplifting.

Among those who participated in the prayer session was Rev. Nathaniel Anunobi, Vicar in-charge of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Dutse and a number of his parishioners that accompanied him to the event.

The highpoint of the day was when Akinremi rallied all members of the Fellowship and their visiting friends to perform the usual ceremonial cake-cutting exercise for the Yakub.

The former federal lawmaker was offered the gift of the Fellowship’s uniform as a mark of their gratitude to one who has supported the activities of all religious bodies at the corps.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Dr Yakub assumed the office as the D-G of NTAC on Aug. 22, 2023.
