Following days of impactful familiarization and strategic partnership engagements, the President of the Nigeria Shooting Sport Federation (NSSF), Commodore Mohammed Shettima, on Wednesday hosted board members and members of the press to a luncheon at City View Restaurant, Abuja.

The luncheon came on the heels of a series of high-level visits by the newly constituted NSSF Board aimed at repositioning shooting sports in Nigeria and strengthening institutional partnerships.

On Tuesday, the NSSF delegation paid landmark courtesy visits to the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, as well as the Director-General of the National Commission for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW), under the Office of the National Security Adviser, in Abuja.

The tour continued on Wednesday with a visit to the President of the Organisation of Military Sports in Africa (OSMA) and Vice President of the International Military Sports Council (CISM), Major General Abdullahi Maikano, at his office in Asokoro.

Stakeholders have commended the strategic visits, describing them as bold steps toward revitalizing shooting sports and fostering stronger collaboration between the federation and key security and sports institutions.

The luncheon provided an opportunity for board members and journalists to interact in a relaxed atmosphere, fostering open dialogue and strengthening media relations.

Speaking during the event, Commodore Shettima updated the press on the shared vision of the National Sports Commission NSC under the leadership of Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and Director General Bukola Olopade, the Nigeria Olympic Committee NOC under Eng. Habu Gumel and the NSSF in transforming sports into a viable platform for wealth creation and job opportunities in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government.

He reaffirmed the federation’s commitment to transparency, inclusiveness, and strategic partnerships as it works to restore the glory of shooting sports in Nigeria.
