National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, has declared Speed Darlington wanted for alleged rape, cyberbullying and cyberstalking.
On May 27, Darlington sparked outrage on social media after openly admitting to having sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl.
The backlash drew the attention of authorities, prompting the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, DSVA, to intervene.
DSVA, however, clarified that while the exact location of the incident remained unknown, its jurisdiction covers only Lagos.
As a result, the agency escalated the matter to NAPTIP for further investigation.
NAPTIP subsequently invited Darlington for questioning, but the singer failed to comply.
In response, the agency escalated its efforts, issuing a public notice yesterday via X (formerly Twitter).
The post included a photo of the singer and urged anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.
“Darlington Okoye, aka Speed Darlington, is wanted in connection with alleged offences including rape, cyberbullying and cyberstalking.
“Anyone with credible information on his whereabouts is urged to contact NAPTIP immediately,” the post read.
Following the intense backlash, Darlington backtracked on his earlier confession, claiming it was entirely fictional.
