CVR: Support Group Tasks Ogun Teachers On Participate

By Anthony Ochela, Abuja

Convener of  Omoluabi For YAYI, OFY, in Ogun State, Professor Abdulwahid Ajibola, has charged teachers to ensure participation in the ongoing online and physical Continuous Voter Registration, CVR, exercise being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Ajibola, who was a guest speaker  during the inauguration of “YAYI Teachers”, a support group for the gubernatorial ambition of Senator Solomon  Adeola, popularity referred to as YAYI, recently in Ijebu East Local Government Area, said  by getting registered, the teachers would be taking their civic responsibilities seriously  in the process of deciding leaders that will shape their collective future.

He told the teachers that merely chanting “YAYI ni jo! YAYI ni jare!!” will not produce the desired results so they should do the needful by ensuring that every eligible member, family, friends and associates participate actively by registering, revalidating or transferring their voting status in order to obtain the Permanent Voter Card, PVC, that qualifies them as members of the electorate.

Furthermore, the convener  said he is happy to be associated with YAYI Teachers and being part of the day’s gathering which is his primary constituency as an academic.

He congratulated the teachers for their boldness, courage and doggedness in joining the moving train, assuring that it will lead to success and immense benefit to all and sundry, particularly as Senator Adeola is fond of teachers and always takes all issues concerning them into cognizance.

Ajibola enjoined the teachers to appeal to their “siddon-look” colleagues and those sitting on the fence out of fear to  team up with them to support  Yayi’s gubernatorial aspiration in their interest, as well as those of their future generations.

He also assured the teachers that they have nothing to fear being associated with this Support group, YAYI Teachers, as thier political leader, Governor Dapo Abiodun and Senator Yayi are working towards the same goal, which is to better the lots of the people in the state.

He noted that the dividends of democracy and deliverables being shared, as well as the gigantic infrastructural development being carried out directly, indirectly and facilitated by Senator Adeola are in tandem with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola  Tinubu and complementary to the good works of Governor  Abiodun.

Ajibola cautioned the teachers against listening to misinformation and public rantings on social media about an alleged rift between the two political leaders, describing them as  media hype that do not warrant any attention, let alone deserving of a reaction.

Members of Ajibola’s entourage to the event were: Mr Mikhail Alli, OFY Coordinator Odogbolu LGA; Mrs Aminat Owodunni Salau OFY Women Leader Ijebu East LGA; Mr Sikiru Ayanyemi, OFY Coordinator Sagamu LGA.

Others include: his Ward Leaders and Representatives, Mr AbdulAkeem Akinola Ogunbanjo from Ogijo (Ward 10); Mr Kabir Idowu Haruna (Ward 4 – Sabo 1, Sagamu); Mr Abdullah Owolabi Ajibola (Ward 3 – Ayegbami / Ijoku, Sagamu) and Mr Nosiru Gbadamosi (Ward 2 – Oko, Epe & Itunla II, Sagamu).
