From HASSAN JIRGI Damaturu
National President of Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria, KACRAN, Khalil Bello, has condemned the recent brutal killings in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State, describing the attacks as unacceptable and unjustifiable.
A statement issued by the National President of the association, Khalil Bello which was made available to AljazirahNigeria in Damaturu, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives, particularly women and children in what it termed a “heinous crime” that has no place in a diverse and peaceful nation like Nigeria.
The statement reads: “KACRAN, an organisation committed to fostering peace between herders and farmers, calls on all parties including bandits, youth, and volunteer groups to refrain from violence and seek legal means to address grievances.
According to him, there is no justification for surrounding homes at night and killing innocent people. If anyone has been wronged, they should report to law enforcement rather than take revenge on women and children who have no part in the conflict.
The statement added that “We urged youth and vigilantes to avoid retaliatory attacks, emphasizing that criminality has no ethnic or religious boundaries. Instead, it encouraged dialogue and adherence to the rule of law to prevent further bloodshed.” Digital newspaper bundles
KACRAN praised Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for his proactive measures in organising security meetings and supporting law enforcement agencies to restore peace.
He also expressed gratitude to the military and security agencies for their relentless efforts in maintaining peace across the country.
The association commended the executive chairman of Riyom local government for advocating neutrality in security operations.
