African Democratic Congress, ADC, has cleared it’s three presidential aspirants who purchased the party’s presidential nomination form to contest for the party’s ticket scheduled on Monday, May 25..
The three Frontline aspirants cleared include , former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former Rivers State governor and Minister of Transportation Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and renowned Economist Mohammed Hayatu Deen.
The ADC Presidential Screening Committee headed by a former Cross River State governor and Minister of power , Sen. Lyell Imoke had during the screening exercise grilled the three aspirants on their blueprint, qualification, competence, economy, loyalty, commitment to the party’s ideal amongst others .
According to a Statement by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Malam Bollaii Abdhllahi said the three aspirants cleared scaled through at the screening process , adding that no aspirant was dropped.
He added that the Party cleared 109; Senatorial aspirants , 513 , house of Representatives aspirants , 80 , Governorship aspirants across the country for it’s primaries
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the three aspirants will battle for the party’s presidential ticket Monday , even as the party has not concluded on any consensus arrangement.
Recall that the African Democratic Congress, ADC, did not zone the presidential ticket to any region of the country, as it left the ticket open for all party members regardless of zone.
