FROM RAHILA ABDULLAHI, KADUNA
Interim National Chairman of African Democratic Congress, ADC, Senator David Mark has warned that the party would not condone any form of anti-party activity from its members.
Mark, who gave the warning at the leadership meeting of the coalition partners in Kaduna at the weekend, said the ADC is committed to upholding its constitution, noting that lack of internal democracy had become the bane of bad governance in Nigeria.
Adding that party is seriously working towards ensuring that a level playing ground is provided for all, Mark, who was represented by a chieftain of the party, Senator Abubakar Yar’adua, lauded the leadership of the party in the state for setting the pace for other states to emulate from.
He assured all party members and other coalition partners of a fair playing group, urging them to be coordinated, as it is not going to be business as usual.
On the registration of members, Senator Mark emphasised that the process would be free, fair and credible to accommodate all, adding that mechanism is already in place to checkmate any form of manipulation that is capable of denting the image of the party.
In his opening remarks, Kaduna State Chairman of the party, Elder Patrick Ambut disclosed that since the day the coalition was unveiled, membership has continued to swell by the day.
Speaking on the state of the nation as regards the coalition, Ambut emphasised that Nigeria and Nigerians had never had it so bad as it is now under the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, spanning 2015 till date.
According to him, Nigeria is in a quagmire politically, economically, socially and even psychologically, assuring that the emergence of the coalition has provided a veritable platform to give Nigeria her needed political change.
A former chieftain of the APC and member of the ADC, Salihu Lukman said his former party had failed in providing good governance to the people, just as he stressed that poverty, insecurity, hunger among Nigerians are on the increase, hence the need for a genuine change that ADC is out to provide.
