Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have recorded fresh operational successes across Nigeria’s North-East, including the surrender of six suspected fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and the rescue of abducted victims during separate operations.

The Acting Military Information Officer of the Headquarters North-East Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, Lt. Col. Mohammed Goni, disclosed the developments in a statement issued on Thursday.

According to Goni, the six suspected ISWAP members surrendered alongside their family members to troops of the 192 Battalion, Sector 1, in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the group fled from the Guduf Bubayagwa and Chikide terrorist enclaves located in the Mandara Mountains.

The statement noted that Operation Hadin Kai has continued to sustain pressure on terrorist groups through intelligence-driven operations, search-and-rescue missions and coordinated security efforts across the North-East.

In a separate operation carried out on July 7, 2026, troops of the 115 Task Force Battalion rescued two abducted victims from a suspected terrorist hideout in Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.

During the operation, security operatives recovered ₦1.2 million, believed to be proceeds of criminal activities, in addition to food supplies and other logistics suspected to have supported terrorist operations.

The rescued victims were subsequently evacuated to a secure location where they are receiving medical treatment and psychosocial support.

The military also recovered ₦1,541,500, two Tecno mobile phones and other items from the six surrendered suspects and their families.

In another operation, troops arrested a suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP logistics supplier at the Molai checkpoint while he was allegedly transporting a large quantity of medical supplies without the necessary clearance.

According to the military, the suspect and the recovered items remain in custody for further investigation.

Goni further disclosed that troops stationed at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Logomani in Ngala Local Government Area successfully repelled a coordinated attack launched by suspected ISWAP fighters.

Although the attackers briefly breached part of the base’s defensive perimeter during the encounter, the troops regrouped and mounted a counter-offensive that forced the insurgents to retreat after suffering significant casualties.

The military, however, confirmed that one soldier was killed during the confrontation, while two gun trucks and other combat equipment were damaged.

Despite the attack, the military stated that the base remains under the full control of Operation Hadin Kai, with reinforcements deployed and additional security measures being implemented to strengthen its defences.

In Adamawa State, troops of the 232 Battalion, acting on credible intelligence, arrested a suspected criminal in Gombi Local Government Area.

Follow-up operations led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle, two magazines and 28 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.

The military said investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend other members of the criminal network.

Meanwhile, troops of the 149 Battalion arrested two suspected terrorist logistics suppliers in Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State.

Items recovered from the suspects included cash, a Volkswagen Golf vehicle, construction materials, household items and other supplies suspected to have been intended for terrorist groups.

The suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.

As part of ongoing clearance operations, troops of the 24 Task Force Brigade, working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, raided suspected terrorist enclaves around Wulgo.

During the operation, the troops recovered a sack containing assorted illicit drugs abandoned by fleeing insurgents.

In Sector 2, troops of the 233 Tank Battalion, in collaboration with local hunters, also arrested another suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP logistics supplier in Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State.

The suspect was intercepted with five motorcycle tyres believed to be intended for terrorist elements.

According to Goni, the latest operational achievements demonstrate the effectiveness of sustained military offensives, intelligence gathering and collaboration with other security agencies and community-based groups in disrupting terrorist activities and dismantling logistics networks across the region.

He assured the public that search-and-rescue operations would continue until all abducted persons are safely reunited with their families.

The military also warned individuals against supplying food, fuel, construction materials, transportation or any other form of support to terrorist groups, stressing that anyone found aiding or collaborating with terrorists would be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
