Senator Olajide Ipinsagba Mourns Chief Elder Erastus Akeju


Senator Olajide Ipinsagba has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Chief Elder Erastus Akeju, describing him as a distinguished statesman, community leader, and elder statesman whose life was marked by service, integrity, and unwavering dedication to the development of his people.


In a condolence message, the Senator said the death of Chief Akeju is a monumental loss not only to the Akeju family but also to the people of Akoko North West Local Government, Ondo North Senatorial District, and Ondo State at large.


He extended his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, associates, and all those affected by the painful loss.


Senator Ipinsagba noted that Chief Akeju was a leader of exceptional character who served with distinction as Chairman of Akoko North West Local Government, where he demonstrated visionary leadership, fairness, and a strong commitment to grassroots development. According to the Senator, his tenure remains a shining example of responsive and people-centered governance.


He further highlighted Chief Akeju’s impactful service as Commissioner for Works in Ondo State, where he contributed significantly to the development of critical infrastructure. The roads and public projects executed under his leadership, he said, remain enduring symbols of progress and development.


The Senator also praised the late elder’s role as Chairman of the Elder Forum, Akoko North West, where he continued to offer wise counsel, foster unity, and provide leadership on matters concerning peace, tradition, and community development.


“Chief Elder Erastus Akeju will be remembered for his humility, patriotism, and selfless service to humanity. His remarkable legacy will continue to inspire generations of leaders across Ondo North and beyond,” Senator Ipinsagba stated.


While mourning his passing, the Senator urged the people to also celebrate a life well lived and devoted to God, community, and country.


He prayed for Almighty God to grant the family, the Elder Forum, and the entire people of Ondo North the strength to bear the irreparable loss, and for the peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul.
