Senator Olajide Ipinsagba has congratulated the people of Ondo North Senatorial District and all Nigerians on the occasion of Democracy Day, urging citizens to remain committed to the ideals of unity, peace, justice, and good governance.
In his Democracy Day message marking the historic June 12 celebration in Nigeria, on Friday in Abuja the lawmaker called on Nigerians to reflect on the sacrifices made by the nation’s democratic heroes whose struggles laid the foundation for the democratic system currently enjoyed in the country.
Senator Ipinsagba noted that Democracy Day serves as an important reminder of the resilience, courage, and determination of those who fought for freedom, justice, and the right of citizens to participate in governance. He said their sacrifices should inspire present and future generations to protect democratic values.
According to him, democracy remains a collective responsibility that requires active participation from every citizen. He stressed that national progress can only be achieved when citizens work together to strengthen institutions, promote peace, and demand accountability from leaders at all levels.
The senator further emphasized the need for unity among Nigerians, regardless of ethnic, religious, or political differences. He said the country’s diversity should be seen as a strength capable of driving national development and fostering greater inclusion.
Ipinsagba also expressed gratitude to the people of Ondo North for their continued support, trust, and confidence in his leadership. He reassured constituents of his unwavering commitment to effective representation and sustained efforts toward the development of the senatorial district.
He concluded by wishing Nigerians a peaceful and memorable Democracy Day celebration, expressing optimism that with unity, justice, and good governance, the nation would continue to move toward greater prosperity and inclusive growth.
