Ramadan: FG Calls For Unity, Economic Growth Through Creative Industry

Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu  Musawa has emphasised the importance of unity among Nigerians, particularly during the  Ramadan period.

Musawa, who made this disclosure at the Ramadan breaking of fast on Wednesday in Abuja, highlighted the significance of the creative industry in promoting national unity and economic growth.

She noted that as a woman of faith, she saw this period as a time for spiritual reflection and unity, adding that “we all belong to one realm” and “worship the same Almighty.”

The minister said she is optimistic about the future of the creative industry in Nigeria, appreciating President Bola Tinubu’s support. 

According to her, government is working to establish a strong institutional framework to support the creative industry, which has the potential to drive economic expansion and empower Nigerians. 

The minister added that the creative industry could contribute significantly to the country’s GDP and create millions of jobs.

To achieve this, she emphasised that her ministry is focusing on building strong infrastructure that will allow the creative industry to reach its full potentials. This includes initiatives to promote Nigerian culture and creativity globally, preserve and celebrate the country’s rich cultural heritage and provide support for creative entrepreneurs.

The minister also emphasised the importance of using culture to build national unity and cohesion, saying she believes that culture is a national asset that could be used to promote economic expansion and empower Nigerians.

According to her, some of the key initiatives underway include establishing a strong institutional framework to support the creative industry, promoting Nigerian culture and creativity globally, preserving and celebrating its rich cultural heritage, providing support for creative entrepreneurs and investing in the industry to drive sustainable economic growth.
