Reinstated Mandate Secretary, FCTA Education Secretariat, Dr. Danlami Hayyo has expressed gratitude to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Nyesom Wike for reinstating him back to the office few weeks after he was suspended.
The Minister had announced the suspension of Hayyo on November 25,2025 over illegally issued circular instructing FCT public schools to closed down for the year over the heightened insecurity, a circular the Mandate Secretary disclosed he was never awared of or endorsed.

was full of gratitude to God for vindicating him and the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike for understanding the situation very well and reinstated him back to the office, disclosing that his loyalty to him remain 100 percent.
” I have to thank God Almighty for the blessing. for vindicating me about the last incident, and I will also use this opportunity to thank the Honourable Minister of FCT, Barr Nyesom Wike, who has understood the situation very well and reinstated me back to my position.
” My loyalty to the Honourable Minister is 100%. My loyalty to the Honourable Minister, no shake. I will also use this opportunity to thank the Honourable Minister of State, who has in various stages approached the Honourable Minister and made sure the issue has resolved.
He disclosed that no previous FCT administrations achieved what Wike led administration has achieved and still achieving in the last two and half years in the area of education.
In particular, he mentioned massive transformation of the education sector within the territory such as completion of renovations of no few than 100 public schools amongst others.
“This is a laudable achievement that no any regime that the FCT schools witness this kind of massive transformation of education sector. If you go to some of our schools, you see, you just feel that yes, you are in London or you are in France or you are in Germany, while you are in FCT schools.
” Over 100 schools were completely renovated. Some are ongoing, some renovation has completed, some are almost completed. So, I think very soon, since the minister said it in various platforms and occasions, yes, maybe we will expect a kind of commissioning of projects, education projects, more especially this time that in the first quarter of 2026, we expect about 60% of our schools renovation completed. First quarter of 2026, 60 to 70% of our schools renovations will be completed. So, apparently the minister will be happy to commission all these projects.
Hayyo assured that FCT schools are very safe.
” We don’t have any security threats in FCT schools”he said.
Commenting on what led his suspension, he said: “A director cannot just write something, just circulate it without my approval and without the approval of the honourable minister. Even if I’m the minister of FCT, what happened that time, I must take this decision. I must take it. So that’s why, yes, the minister has done right and discover that, yes, I have no any hand on it. And so definitely we have to organise a kind of seminar or refresher programmes for all the directors.
Let them know who they are, their mandate and their responsibilities at least, their responsibilities. Let them know where they are, what is above their capacity, you understand, what is within their limit.
