Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have successfully rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, during a late-night operation conducted at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

During the rescue mission, police operatives engaged members of the kidnapping gang in a gun battle, resulting in the death of two suspected abductors. Authorities also recovered two firearms from the suspects during the operation.

Mrs. John-Paul, who is the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, was kidnapped alongside her twin sons at approximately 7:30 a.m. on June 3, 2026. The incident occurred while she was reportedly taking the children to school.

According to security sources, the breakthrough was achieved through sustained intelligence gathering, strategic tracking, and continuous pressure mounted on the kidnappers by law enforcement officers. The coordinated efforts eventually forced the gang into a confrontation with police personnel, leading to the safe rescue of all three victims.

Following the operation, security agents launched a manhunt for other members of the kidnapping syndicate believed to have fled the scene. Investigators suspect that some of the escaping suspects sustained gunshot injuries during the exchange of fire and may be hiding in surrounding communities.

Authorities have intensified search operations across nearby locations as efforts continue to apprehend the remaining members of the criminal network.

Further information is expected as investigations progress.
