Katsina State Police Command has arrested a seven-man syndicate that specialises in shop breaking and armed robbery.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Abubakar Aliyu told newsmen in Katsina yesterday, that the hoodlums were apprehended in their hideout at Shararrar Pipe Quarters, Katsina.
Aliyu said the men, who were between 19 and 34 years of age, were arrested, following a complaint at Sabon Gari Police Division that the suspects were allegedly looting a shop behind Katsina Central Market.
He said the command’s detectives swung into action and subsequently tracked the suspects to their hideout and arrested them.
Aliyu said the police recovered two cutlasses, two long sharp knives, two clubs, one iron and a black beret.
He noted that the suspects would be charged to court after investigation.
