Ogun Govt Issues One Month Ultimatum To Banks Without Permits, Threatens Enforcement

Ogun State Government has issued a one month ultimatum to commercial banks operating in the state to comply with the provisions of law and regulations regarding permits saying that breaching the deadline would attract enforcement.

Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Tpl. Olatunji Odunlami, stated this at a stakeholders’ meeting held at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the state capital.

Odunlami said that the deposit banks must hold all necessary permits, including planning permits for buildings, for towers as well as antennas and ensure they be in compliance with the regulations of the state.

He explained that the Dapo Abiodun led administration was determined to make sure that all businesses including the banks operated within the ambit of the law hence the a ultimatum, stressing that the state would continue to be business friendly with her investors.

The Commissioner divulged that all necessary notices had been served earlier to the banks, emphasising that meeting with the bank’s executives was a final call for partnership with the institutions as stakeholders towards the physical development of the state.

He, therefore, thanks the management of the banks that had complied as at the time of the meeting, while urging others to comply with the directive before the deadline expired to avoid enforcement
