The Management of Obodofei Integrated Services Limited has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 74th birthday while commending his administration’s leadership in advancing Nigeria’s energy transition
The company also praised the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority for granting a License to Establish (LTE) a 25 million standard cubic feet per day (25MSPD) Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) processing plant in Bayelsa State.
In a statement, the management described the approval as more than a regulatory milestone, noting that it reflects the Federal Government’s deliberate commitment to transforming Nigeria’s energy landscape through expanded gas infrastructure.
According to the company, the project aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu, particularly the administration’s push for the adoption of CNG as a cleaner, cost-effective alternative to Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).
It noted that following the removal of fuel subsidies and the resulting rise in fuel prices, the Federal Government’s CNG initiative has become a critical strategy to cushion economic pressures on Nigerians while promoting long-term energy security and reducing carbon emissions.
Obodofei stated that the planned facility, to be located in the Niger Delta, will be the first of its kind in the region, positioning Bayelsa State as a key hub in Nigeria’s emerging gas economy. The plant is expected to boost domestic gas utilisation, improve access to CNG for transportation and industrial use, and support the Federal Government’s Decade of Gas initiative.
The company further highlighted the socio-economic benefits of the project, including job creation, local content development, and increased economic activities in the region. It added that the plant would also attract supporting industries such as logistics, conversion services, and maintenance operations, strengthening the overall CNG value chain.
Obodofei Integrated Services Limited said the project presents significant investment opportunities and is structured to be commercially viable and scalable. It therefore called on strategic partners and investors to participate in the initiative.
The management also expressed appreciation to the Bayelsa State Ministry of Trade and Investment for its support and enabling environment throughout the project development phase.
Reaffirming its commitment, the company pledged to deliver a world-class CNG processing facility that will contribute to Nigeria’s transition to cleaner energy and support ongoing reforms in the nation’s energy sector.
