NDLEA Intercepts  Tanker Loaded With Cannabis In Niger

National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Niger State Command has intercepted a  tanker loaded with 246 bags of cannabis sativa along  Suleja-Kaduna road.

The State Commander of NDLEA, Mallam Shehu Nomau gave the hint during a media chat in Minna.

Nomau said the command successfully got the consignment as a result of intelligence report from a patriotic Nigerian who made the information available to the command.

He revealed that the fuel tanker was from Delta State and carrying cannabis sativa weighing 3,047 kilograms to Niger State as its final destination.

The commander  explained that the tanker was arrested alongside  three vehicles with four suspects. 

He said the suspects would be charged to court for prosecution to serve as a deterrent to others.

Nomau acknowledged the support and commitment of Governor Umaru Bago to the command in fighting  illicit drugs and drug dealers in the state.

He warned drug peddlers  to desist, as the command would not relent in its efforts to arresting them.
