National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission, N-HYPADEC, has delivered a consignment of relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, particularly those displaced during the recent Yelewata attack in Benue State.

This gesture is a continuation of the commission’s show of solidarity with victims of violent attacks in the state.

Acting Managing Director of N-HYPADEC, Jimoh Gabi presented the relief materials to the Benue State government Wednesday at the State Emergency Management Agency’s, SEMA, office in Makurdi.

Items donated include mattresses, rubber mats, bags of rice, seasoning, soap, mosquito nets, among others.

The materials also include 10 Hero Hunter motorcycles to enhance mobility and field response.

Gabi emphasised the urgency of the moment, urging increased vigilance and proactive engagement in environmental and security intelligence efforts.

Receiving the items on behalf of the state government, the Deputy Governor, Sam Ode expressed appreciation to N-HYPADEC for its consistent support.

He equally commended the commission’s timely response to the humanitarian crisis caused by the attack on Yelewata and pledged that the materials would be utilised for their intended purpose.

Ode called for proactive collaboration with N-HYPADEC in disaster preparedness to act before emergencies strike.
