Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, said it found no basis to support the misconduct allegations made by Mr Chiemele Offor in Surulere.
The Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, LASTMA, Mr Taofiq Adebayo stated this in a statement Thursday in Lagos.
He said Offor had posted on Facebook, accusing unnamed LASTMA officers of misconduct in Iponri area of Surulere on Wednesday.
Upon receiving the complaint, LASTMA initiated an internal review, including a full debriefing of officers deployed to Surulere and Iponri areas.
The investigation also involved examining duty rosters, operational logs and deployment records from the relevant locations and time.
Efforts were made to reach Offor through his Twitter (X) handle to request key details, including vehicle registration and officer descriptions.
According to Adebayo, no operational log or personnel statement supported the claim made in the social media post.
He added that Offor had yet to provide further evidence or specific details, in spite of multiple requests.
A physical check confirmed that there is no “Faithview Hospital” in Surulere axis, as cited in the Facebook post.
LASTMA reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, transparency and ethical operations, highlighting its newly launched toll-free line for public feedback.
“In the absence of verifiable facts, LASTMA finds no basis to validate the allegations,” Adebayo said.
He urged Offor or any witnesses to call the hotline and assist with credible information for fair investigation. (NAN)
