A member of the Governing Board of the African Aviation and Aerospace University, Abuja, Honourable Chidi Nwogu, commends President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister for Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, and the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) , for the Special High-Impact Intervention Projects, which includes selected universities for engineering upgrades.
The Federal Government has approved N48 billion for this initiative.
Among the twelve beneficiary institutions is the African Aviation and Aerospace University, Abuja. Honourable Chidi Nwogu in his remarks after the inauguration of the Implementation Committee on Monday the 2nd of March, applauded the vision and drive of the supervising minister of the AAAU, Honourable Festus Keyamo the Minister for Aviation, the Pro Chancellor , the Governing Council, and the Acting VC of the AAAU for consistently promoting the university and working towards its advancement.
This development will not only upgrade these institutions but also position them among the best in Africa in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, and Industrial engineering, as well as emerging specialties like Software, Aerospace, and Biomedical engineering.
Other beneficiary institutions, which will each receive N4 billion, include the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State, Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, Federal University of Technology, Babura, Jigawa State, Federal University of Technology, Ikot-Abasi, Akwa-Ibom State, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, Nigerian Army University, Biu, Borno State, Shehu Shagari University of Education, Sokoto State, Enugu State University of Medical and Applied Sciences, University of Ilesha, Osun, Delta State University, and Abubakar Tafawa Balewa
