Local Government officials in Benue state have been charged to give necessary support to agents carrying out the on going party E- registration and revalidation by mobilizing party men and women to fully participate in the exercise in preparation ahead the 2027 general elections.
Special Assistant to the Benue State governor on Community Relations and Engagements,Terna,Andura gave the charge during an interview with journalists yesterday in Makurdi, after a successful registration in the revalidation exercise as a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC in his Council Ward of Mbatan,Mbayion in Gboko Local Government Area of the state.
Andura explained that the E- registration and revalidation exercise which would run till the end of January, is crucial for determining the party’s numerical strength and ensuring that only verified and registered members participate in the upcoming APC congresses and urged party members to take the exercise seriously.
He equally appealed to the people to avail themselves for the opportunity, noting that governor Alia’s administration will prioritize areas with high registration numbers and urged party men and women to come out en masse to register as it is the only way to vote for candidates of their choices in the forthcoming elections.
While commending President Bola Tinubu and the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, for initiating the e-registration programme, which he noted would go a long way in helping the party to determine its numerical strength, the Special Assistant to the Benue governor also applauded his principal Governor Alia, for his participatory leadership style.
Andura who was overwhelmed with the turnout for the exercise at the center, describing it as show of concern and a sign that 2027 would be a done deal, for Governor Alia ‘s re- election, urged all APC members across the state to come out en- mass to revalidate their membership, encouraging others still grand standing to join the APC to give Governor Alia the needed support to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people of Benue State.
In separate remarks, pa Iorlaha Steven, Idye Avule and Atakpa Patrick all commended Governor Alia for finding their son worthy to work in his cabinet and on behalf of the Mbayion community assured the governor of their solidly to ensure his re-election come 2027.
