Mohammed-Bago

FROM SAMSON ALFA, MINNA

Barely five days after the inauguration of new commissioners, Niger State governor, Umaru Bago has sack  his 30 special advisers.

The governor disclosed this during a maiden meeting with his newly sworn-in commissioners at the  Government House, Minna, yesterday.

He said the termination of their appointments was to allow him  reposition their portfolios with a view to making them more effective and efficient in line with his New Niger agenda.

The governor appreciated the outgone special advisers for their sacrifices and contributions towards the success of his administration and also wished them well in their future endeavours.

It would be recalled that during the inauguration of new commissioners last Friday,  Bago expressed dismay over the attitude of some political appointees, saying they are lazy and a burden to  government.
