The Federal Capital Territory has been thrown into mourning following the death of its Head of the Civil Service, Mrs. Grace Adayilo.
She was said to have passed on in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025.
Although the cause of her death was yet to be known at press time, her Media Aide, Anthony Odey, confirmed the sad news.
Mrs. Adayilo was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on October 6, 2024, as the first substantive Head of Service of the FCT, with the appointment taking immediate effect.
Her emergence was historic, as she also became the first woman to ever occupy the position in the nation’s capital.
Before that landmark appointment, she served as Permanent Secretary in the Agriculture and Rural Development Secretariat of the FCT Administration.
