Edo NLC Mourns Ex-IGP Arase, Says He Was An Intelligence Cop

Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Edo State Council has expressed shock and sadness over the news of the death of a former Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Dr Solomon Arase.

The State Caretaker Committee Chairman, NLC, Professor Monday  Igbafen, in a statement yesterday, said the union is extremely saddened by the sudden death of the former IGP,  whom he described as an extraordinary, refined intelligence policeman and a reservoir of security strategies and tips.

Igbafen, who described the death of the retired top policeman as a colossal loss to Edo State in particular and the country in general, condoled  his immediate family, friends and associates, Edo State and the nation at large.

Arase, the 18th IGP, who retired in 2016, passed away on at the age of 69 on Sunday, August 31, after a brief illness at a private hospital in Abuja.
