CSOs Commend DSS’ Efforts To Curb Alleged Banditry Influx In FCT

Amidst alleged Influx of Bandits to the FCT, Coalition of Civil Society group for Peace, Security, Good Governance, Equity and Justice, has commended the Department of Security Service (DSS) for curbing the activities of bandits.

In a statement by the National Coordinator, Comrade James Okoronkwo said in the past one year the Department of Security Service under the leadership of Yusuf Magaji Bichi , has boosted the prevention and detection of crimes against the internal security in the country.

It also noted that the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Command, Director, Mr Ado Mu’azu has in collaboration with other security agencies curbed the nefarious activities of “one chance robbers” in the territory .

The group however urge residents of the FCT and members of the public to disregard the rumoured influx of bandits to the Federal Capital Territory saying “it is handiwork of mischief makers” bent on sabotaging the efforts of President Bola Tinubu administration to enhance and security nationwide.

Furthermore, the group noted that the DSS has performed exceedingly well by mitigating the menace of Okada riders notably along the Airport road noting ” that in Piwoyi village the DSS averted tension in the area following the stabbing of some residents by the lawless cyclists “Okada riders.”
