Court Sentences Oluwatimileyin Ajayi to Death for NYSC Member’s Murder

In a ruling delivered by the High Court in Lafia, Nasarawa State, Oluwatimileyin Ajayi was sentenced to death by hanging for the brutal murder of Salome Adaidu, a National Youth Service Corps member.

The court found Ajayi guilty of culpable homicide under Section 221 of the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria, which mandates the death penalty for such offenses.

Justice Simon Aboki, presiding over the case, convicted Ajayi for the killing and dismemberment of Adaidu.

The charge, a single count of culpable homicide, was brought under Section 221 of the Penal Code, which prescribes capital punishment for the crime.
