The Camel Racing Federation of Nigeria has appointed the Emir of Argungu Alhaji Samaila Mohammad Mera as its Grand Patron, in a move aimed at strengthening the promotion of cultural heritage and advancing the sport nationally and internationally.
The appointment was conveyed in an official letter presented to the monarch at his palace in Argungu by one of the Federation’s newly appointed Technical Directors, Alhaji Umar Rasheed Gulma.
According to the letter signed by the National President of the Federation, Mallam Lawal Musa, the Emir was selected in recognition of his unwavering commitment to preserving Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage.
The Federation expressed confidence that his leadership and support would help fast-track its efforts to position Nigeria competitively in international camel racing tournaments.
In his response, the Emir of Argungu expressed gratitude to the Federation for the honour bestowed upon him as its pioneer Grand Patron.
He also offered prayers for the success and growth of the Organisation, urging members to remain dedicated to achieving greater heights.
In a related development, Alhaji Dauda Adamu has been appointed as the Camel Owners’ Representative within the Federation.
