Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni has approved the appointment of Abba Gana Tata as Chairman of the Local Government Projects Monitoring and Evaluation Committee.
The appointment, conveyed through the office of the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, takes immediate effect.
Members of the committee include Mustapha Bolibe, Tijani Dugu, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, Alhaji Ali Ibrahim, Ali Borko, Umar Kukuri and Baba Sabo Waziri as Secretary.
According to the letter, the committee was mandated to monitor all capital projects executed by local governments across the state.
It will also ensure that such projects are carried out in line with approved standards and specifications.
Buni reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensure that projects embarked upon by local governments directly impact the lives of citizens, stressing that monitoring and evaluation are critical to maintaining quality service delivery.
The committee is expected to submit quarterly reports to government to aid effective supervision, transparency and accountability in the execution of developmental projects at the grassroots level.
