BREAKING: Tinubu Approves 65 Ambassadorial Postings

President Bola Tinubu has approved the deployment of 65 ambassadors, 31 career and 34 non-career, to various countries and the United Nations, months after their nominations were confirmed by the Senate in December 2025.

Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga announced the postings, highlighting several high-profile non-career appointments: former presidential spokesperson Reno Omokri to Mexico, former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode to Germany, former Rivers State military administrator Vice Admiral Ibok Ette-Ibas to the Philippines, former Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to Spain, former Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to Greece, former Interior Minister Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau to China, Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu to Israel, Paul Adikwu to Vatican City, and Senator Jimoh Ibrahim as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

The nominees were transmitted to the Senate by President Tinubu in 2025, with confirmation secured before the end of the legislative year.
