Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has congratulated Nafisa Abdullah Aminu of Nigerian Tulip International College in Yobe State for her remarkable achievement at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals held in London, United Kingdom.
A statement posted on his verified Facebook page praised Aminu for emerging as the world’s best in English Language Skills.
He described her feat as a testament to the incredible potential of the Nigerian girl-child when given access to quality education and a nurturing environment.
“Her outstanding success serves as a powerful reminder of what our daughters can achieve when empowered with the right tools,” the former vice president wrote.
He emphasised that investing in girls education is not only a matter of equity, but a strategic imperative for national development.
“It is our collective duty to eliminate every barrier that stands in the way of our girls and ensure that they are given equal opportunity to thrive and lead,” he added.
The Waziri Adamawa’s message adds to the wave of national pride and celebration sparked by Aminu’s historic win and her schoolmate, Rukayya Muhammad Fema, who also emerged as the world’s best in debate at the same global competition.
The achievements of the two Yobe State students have been described as a milestone moment for education in Nigeria, especially for the northern region.
