Nigerian superstar Ayra Starr (born Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe) touched down in the archipelago to a welcome fit for a head of state. Before hitting the stage, the Mavin Records sensation paid an official courtesy visit to Seychelles President Patrick Herminie at the State House.

The President expressed that he is a major fan of her music, highlighting the massive global footprint of the Afrobeats genre. 

The 24 year old delivered an electrifying performance during the headline concert on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Victoria’s Stad Popiler. The Grammy-nominated Nigerian Afrobeats sensation served as the central cultural attraction for the island nation’s historic 50th Independence Day (Golden Jubilee) celebrations. 

The live debut of “Tornado” gave the Seychellois crowd an exclusive taste of her highly anticipated third studio album, Starr Girl. Following the spectacular night, Ayra Starr took to social media to thank the country, stating she would “never forget singing Rush” with the beautiful crowd. ‘thank you Seychelles you were beautiful’ she said.
