The Former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, has condoled with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, over the death of his mother, Mama Lydia Yilwatda.
In a statement made available to AljazirahNigeria on Monday, Aliyu said she received the news “with deep sadness,” describing the loss of a mother as “an immeasurable pain.”
She praised late Mama Lydia for the role she played in raising the APC chairman into a leader of repute.
According to her, “Your late mother, Mama Lydia Yilwatda, lived a life of impact, nurturing and guiding you to become the exemplary leader you are today.”
The former minister and Zinariya of Lokoja noted that Mama Lydia’s death was not just a personal loss but also one felt by the wider community.
“Her passing is not only a personal loss to you but also to the larger community that benefited from her wisdom, kindness, and prayers,” she said.
Dr Aliyu prayed for strength for Prof. Yilwatda and his family during this difficult time, adding: “I pray that God grants you and your family the strength, courage, and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. Please accept my deepest sympathy.”
According to sources, Mama Lydia passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), after a brief illness, aged 83.
