From Richard Akintade, Osogbo
As the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, announces August 18, 2025, as the date for the Continuous Voters Registration, CVR, the Osun State Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs, Aare Ganiyu Ayobami Olaoluwa Asejere yesterday urged residents of Osun Central Senatorial District and entire state to seize the opportunity to get registered.
The exercise, which will be conducted both online and physically in all the local government secretariats throughout the federation, will allow residents to register afresh, update their records, and transfer their Permanent Voters’ Card, PVC, to their nearest polling unit.
Aare Asejere who was speaking during an exclusive telephone interview with our Correspondent, urged those who are just attaining 18 years of age but have not yet registered to do so as elections draw closer.
The Commissioner said the sensitization is meant to acquaint the citizens of the window of opportunity opened by INEC to enable them to register.
The CVR allows residents to renew defaced, damaged, or lost PVCs, transfer to new polling units, and register for the first time for those yet to be registered.
The Osogbo born politician said, only through the PVCs will the residents be able to vote in the next election urging them not to miss the opportunity.
According to Aare Asejere, “I want to use this medium to call on you all my people to come out and partake in the coming INEC PVC’s collection exercise which is the only opportunity for every voters to be eligible during the coming elections in Osun as without the card, you will not be allowed to vote that day.
“Anybody from the age of 18th male or female should ensure they are not left out from the exercise”, Aare Asejere added.
