Daily Trust Editor-in-Chief Hamza Idris, Loses Mother

HAJIYA Rabi Idris , fondly called Hajiya Umma, the mother of Daily Trust Newspapers Editor- in-Chief, Malam Hamza Idris is dead.

Daily Trust reports that one of Hajiya Rabi’s sons, Aminu Idris, who confirmed her death said she passed away in the early hours of yesterday, at her residence in Kano, after a brief illness.

The deceased was buried  at Wali Maigeza Cemetery, popularly known as Kofar Mazugal Cemetery, in Kano metropolis in line with Islamic rite.

Meanwhile, the Chairman, Northern States Governors’ Forum and Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has condoled with the acting Editor-in-Chief of Daily Trust Newspapers over the demise of his mother.

In a condolence message issued by his spokesman, Ismaila Uba Misilli, the Yahaya described the late Hajiya Rabi as an exemplary mother and family pillar who lived a life of devotion, compassion and service to her family and community.

Besides, conveyed the sympathies of the Forum to the bereaved family.

In this vein, “I extend our heartfelt condolences to Hamza Idris and his entire family over this great loss. The death of a mother is deeply painful, but we take solace in the exemplary life Hajiya lived.

“May Allah ,SWT, forgive her shortcomings, accept her good deeds and grant her Aljannat-ul-Firdaus. I pray that Almighty Allah gives Malam Hamza and the entire family members the strength and fortitude to bear this huge loss”, the Governor said.
