President Bola Tinubu has praised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike for ensuring equal attentions are being giving to both urban and rural areas infrastructure needs.

Tinubu stated this while commissioning the newly constructed 15km A2 junction on Abuja – Lokoja expressway to Pai community road, located within Kwali Area Council of the FCT.

He lauded the Wike- led FCT Administration for understanding the need for consistent rural development as a way of uplifting the lives of people in rural communities, thereby enabling them to explore abundant economic opportunities and prosperity in their domains.

“Thank you Nyesom Wike, for all you are doing. We greatly appreciate the efforts you and your team have put in place to achieve this. I would not have been here if not for your efforts.

“And I am pleased to commission the 15km A2 to Pai road. However, the road and other infrastructure development are meaningless if we don’t develop them for the benefit of our people.

“Indeed, this project will continue to elevate our lives if this administration continues to prioritize infrastructure development in all zones.

“We will ensure that development is not lopsided but balanced, inclusive, and targets lifting lives.

“The commissioning of this newly constructed road from A2 junction on Abuja-Lokoja expressway to Pai Town, is both symbolic and strategic.

“It is strategic because it opens a new corridor for agriculture, commerce, education, mobility, and other areas, strengthening our national economy from the grassroots up.

“Rural communities such as Pai make an important contribution to Nigeria’s social and economic fabric, especially in food production and local enterprises, ” the president stated.

In his welcome address, FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike disclosed that under Tinubu leadership, the Administration has successfully constructed and commissioned more than 150 kilometres of rural roads spread across the six area councils of the territory.

“So, we are happy with the kind of support you’ve given to us to achieve all this result.

“With this, those of who want to be farmers, real farmers, we are willing to pay compensation to communities and give you farmland, so that we will come out of the food problem, which the federal government is trying to solve.”

Wike promised that the administration will not relent in it efforts towards transforming the FCT into a global competitive capital city in line with the President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
