Nigerian singer Ayra Starr recently opened up about her past involvement in social media trolling during an appearance on the “I Said What I Said” podcast.
She revealed that before rising to fame, she managed a fan page dedicated to rapper Nicki Minaj, which she used to engage in online trolling. Ayra Starr shared, “I had a troll page, I had a Nicki Minaj fan page before I became Ayra Starr.”
Reflecting on her experiences, the 22-year-old artist expressed a desire to occasionally engage in trolling, suggesting it might make her less affected by negative comments directed at her.
She humorously noted, “Sometimes I want to be a troll on the internet, probably with a fake page so that when people insult me I won’t feel bad because I do the same.”
Since achieving stardom, Ayra Starr has been vocal about the online trolling she faces, particularly concerning her fashion choices. Despite the negativity, she maintains a lighthearted perspective, attributing her “bad postures” to the weight of “carrying Afrobeats singlehandedly.”
