Member representing Edati Local government area on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party ,PDP, in the Niger State House of Assembly , Hon Ahmed Rokota, has showered people of his constituency with numerous benefits spread across local government and wards including awards of scholarship to students.
“This is in line with the present challenges of economic hardships confronting the people of my constituency to make life more meaningful”.
Rokota, who was speaking in an interview with the Journalists shortly after meeting with the members of his constituency over the weekend,said he was touched and motivated to ensure the wellbeing of his people.
He said, he has appointed over 80 people from his constituency as special assistance placed on monthly salaries, while all the ward Chairmen and Exco’s were also benefiting from the monthly stipends to fill carried along.
According to Rokota women leaders in every wards were also not left out in the monthly largess, adding that some students willing to further their studies were sponsored to pursue their N C E certificate,and also organised a befitting entertainment for the new PDP local government Executives.
“Already as part of our oversight functions to address some of the immediate problems confronting my people,efforts is geared towards ameliorating their sufferings as a result of the removal of fuel subsidy”.
The member pointed out that 80% of the people of his constituency are predominantly farmers who are not lazy, but can not over look their immediate problems rather encourage them particularly this farming season.
Ahmed Rokota further disclosed that before now efforts have been made to cushion the effects of the hardships of the people in various ways and will not relent in keeping in touch as their plight is my concern”.
According to him, a responsible politician is aware that democracy is all about give and take as one of the cardinal objective to exhale in politics and to enhance dividend of democracy to better the society.
He reiterated his commitment to the provision of social amenities and engaged youths in government empowerment for them to be gainfully employed to become self dependent to have free crime society.
Rokota, however, commended the effort of Governor Bago in making life of the people more meaningful by providing social amenities to the people particularly the rural dwellers at this trying period.
“As a concern member of Niger state house of assembly representing Edati, I am aware of numerous predicaments confronting my wards and will not relent in proffering gradual solutions”, Ahmed Rokota reiterated.
