The Minister of Federal Capital, Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike has felicitated with the residents of the territory on this year celebration of 65th Independence anniversary, pledging that the FCT Administration in partnership with the law enforcement agencies are working towards improved security, law and order within the territory.
Wike stated this on Wednesday in his message to residents to mark 2025 Independence Day anniversary in Abuja.
He enjoined residents to go about their lawful businesses and to be watchful over their neighbourhoods and to also report all suspicious movements to the law enforcement agents.
The Minister described the yearly independence celebration as nation’s historic event where tribute are pay to the founding fathers that labour dauntlessly to birth a formidable country which stands today tall among the comity of nations, adding that it is also a celebration of brotherhood and unity which he said have been woven from the loom of the country’s diversity.
He said Abuja the nation’s capital remains the symbol of unity and nationhood, hence, the need to continue to embody the greatness of being together, saying all hands must be on deck to ensure that the labour of the nation’s founding fathers is not in vain.
” Expectedly, today is one for sober reflection and stock-taking. This is necessary so we can look ahead with renewed hope towards a better future for the Federal Capital Territory and the nation.
” Let me use this occasion to express my appreciation to residents of the FCT for their unwavering support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which centres on economic growth, national security, food security, sustainable development and infrastructure development.
“In keeping with the central objective of Mr. President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, we have made determined progress in several fronts. The FCT Administration, with your unflinching support, will continue to work to provide first-class infrastructure and public utilities as demonstrated in the completion and commissioning of strategic roads and public utilities, ” the minister stated.
