2025 AFCON Hockey: Nigeria Humble Zambia 5–1

Nigeria’s men’s hockey team continued their impressive run at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations Hockey Championship in Egypt, defeating Zambia 5–1 in their third group match at the Suez Hockey Pitch.

The Nigerians dominated proceedings from the onset, taking a 2–0 lead at halftime and extending it to 4–0 in the second half before Zambia managed to score a consolation goal. Unshaken, the Nigerian side responded almost immediately, sealing the emphatic victory with a fifth goal to cap off a commanding display.

Their relentless pressure and teamwork kept Zambia on the back foot throughout the encounter.
