The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike has flagged off reconstruction and dualisation of Karu interchange, Custom Clinic junction road, urging the residents of the area to give needed support to the contractors as the project progresses.

Wike stated this during the road inauguration ceremony in Karu,Abuja on Wednesday, disclosing that the project is expected to be completed by June 2026.

He explained that the move to dualized the road which had been in an unpleasant condition for too long came to be as a result of Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration which means bringing back hope to the people in any areas they have lost it.

The Minister enjoined residents to not only support the contractors handling the project during construction but to also protect it after completion of the work, saying they are the major beneficiaries of the project.

He mentioned other roads within Karu that are currently recieving attention of the Administration such Custom Clinic Juction to EFCC, NIA Quarters Road, Karshi Road, and Primus Hospital Road.

According to him: ” And to make sure you get the benefits you are entitled to. we have added these other roads to this road we are doing now. We are going to rebuild Custom Clinic Juction to CBN Quarters Juction. We are going to rebuild immediately Custom Clinic Junction to EFCC.

” We are also going to rebuild NIA Quarters Road, which is here. We are going to rebuild karshi Road. And we are going to rebuild Primus Hospital Road.

” Karu environment will change from what it now. And we are not just doing this road. They will all have street lights.

” I have seen, look at from the beginning to the end, shops, offices. If this road is done very well, you can imagine what will happen here. How the businesses will improve, ” The Minister added.

While urging the contractors to live up to the expectations, he equally called for involvement of youth of the area by way of giving them some supplies so that the proceeds can help to also take care of some of their needs as the project progresses.

” So now that you’re collecting the money the day it rained, you must also work when it is raining. Because there is nothing like let us wait for dry season. If you want us to wait for dry season, keep the money for dry season.

” I will be coming here very often to inspect this project. Because it’s one of the projects we have lined up that our people must enjoy in the third year anniversary of Mr. President.
