Tinubu Commissions Roads C01 And CO2 In Mabushi District In Abuja, Praises Wike For His Relentless Drive For Results

President Bola Tinubu has commissioned the full scope development of collector roads CO1 and CO2 linking Mabushi Modern Bus Terminal to the Ahmadu Bello way in Abuja.

Tinubu during the commissioning on Friday declared that the completion of the road serves as a testament of his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims at eliminating traffic bottleneck within the corridor.

Represented by the Vice President, Kashim Shetima, Tinubu who praised the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike for his relentless drive for results explained that infrastructure serves as foundational backbone for any modern economy.

The President maintained that by opening up the road which connects directly from the Mabushi modern bus terminal into the wider FCT, has transformed asphalt into channels of commerce and unity, ensuring that citizens can pursue their economic dreams without fear or delay.

” This afternoon, we are not just opening two roads; we are opening up Abuja. We are connecting people to opportunity and cutting hours of waste from daily life. Infrastructure is the backbone of a modern economy. By strengthening interconnectivity here in Mabushi District, we are strengthening the entire Federal Capital Territory “, Tinubu stated.

Praising the FCT Minister, the President said; ” I gave you a simple charge: Make Abuja work for all. ‘ You took it and ran with it. From satellite towns to the city centre, you are turning blueprints into roads people can drive on today, ” The President added, while also thanking the residents of the FCT for their patience during the construction phase.

Speaking earlier, the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike emphasized that the project aligns with the President’s strict directive that every dustrict in Abuja must feel the impact of the current administration.

Wike pointed out that the Mabushi commissioning is part of an intensive, consecutive 31-day timeline celebrating completed projects across the the territory, noted that just day before, the President commissioned the Jahi- Gwarimpa interchange at Katampe, and announced that the administration will move to the Karu Satellite Town on Monday to commission another major road project.

The FCT Minister attributed the sweeping successes entirely to the unwavering financial and logistical support of President Tinubu, noting that a focused leadership leaves subordinates with no choice but to deliver top-tier results.

“Everybody is saying that things are happening in the FCT. It is because of you. It is because of your leadership. When you have courageous leadership, when you have assertive leadership, when you have leadership that is focused and determined to achieve results, the subordinates do not have any other choice. We have no choice but to do what you’ve directed us to do, because all the logistics have been given to us. I want to sincerely thank you for standing by us”, Barrister Wike stated

The Minister who also drew attention to the immediate economic windfall generated by the newly completed project, said it has already triggered a massive boom in real estate, with premium housing developments rapidly springing up along the corridor and attracting eager buyers.

He thanked the President for consistently availing himself to celebrate those milestones with the people, proving that things are actively changing for the better, across both the city center and peripheral towns.

In her remarks, the Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, described the event as a celebration of progress, enhanced connectivity, and aesthetic transformation for the capital city and expressed deep appreciation to President Tinubu, Vice President Shettima, and the FCT Minister for their visionary leadership.

Dr. Mahmoud also extended gratitude to the National Assembly, the diplomatic community, security agencies, traditional rulers, and the FCTA staff, while urging residents to exercise collective responsibility in preserving the new infrastructure for future generations.

Executive Secretary, FCDA, Engr Richard Yunana Dauda while presenting the technical details of the project, said the scope of work included the construction of a variety of collector roads in the city, which is called special important local streets (SILS). He stated that the construction of Collector Road C01 and CO2 in Mabushi was part of the government’s effort to bring about progressive development in Mabushi as well as seamless interconnectivity with adjoining districts.

Engr Dauda said that the scope of work included dual carriageway of two lanes in each direction, and covers about 3.4 kilometers. He revealed that the road also came with integrated infrastructure like surface water drainage, box supply culverts of various sizes, sewer pipe network, water supply pipe network, telecommunication ducts, walkways as well as street lights.
