Nigeria’s Super Falcons staged a stunning comeback from 2 goals down to defeat hosts Morocco 3-2 and lift the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) trophy in Rabat.
Despite trailing by two goals at halftime, the Falcons silenced the massive home crowd with a spirited second-half performance, turning the game around to secure a historic victory.
With this win, Nigeria has now claimed the WAFCON title a record 10 times out of 13 editions—cementing their dominance in African women’s football.
Morocco had taken an early lead, scoring twice before the break, but the Nigerian side showed resilience and determination to claw their way back and eventually emerge champions.
