From Richard Akintade, Osogbo
As the Continuous Voters Registration, CVR, exercise commenced nationwide, Osun State Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa Asejere, has called on the people of Osun Central Senatorial District and entire people of Osun State to troop out in large numbers and embrace the exercise as a way of demonstrating unalloyed support to Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The Commissioner who described the complete involvement of the people to the exercise as an opportunity to ensure that the good works of Governor Adeleke continue and the people’s mandate is protected, made the call Monday while speaking with journalists in Osogbo the Osun State capital.
According to the Osogbo born politician, “This exercise is an essential step in ensuring people’s active participation in the upcoming elections, and I encourage all eligible voters to take part.
“This phase of the CVR exercise will run from Monday August 18, 2025 (Online) to Wednesday December 10, 2025. Physical/On-site registration at any of the registration centres starts on Monday August 25, 2025”.
Alhaji Asejere said further that, “This exercise will allow registration of new voters at any of the designated registration points and for those already registered as voters, it will allow for update of voter information, transfer of their voter record to another location and those who have not collected their PVCs, can conveniently obtain them at designated collection centers.
“To facilitate a seamless process, INEC have launched a feature on the CVR portal where voters can check the status of their voter cards, find the location of their designated pickup center, and for those not previously registered, locate the nearest registration centres.
“Your PVC is your key to making your voice heard in our democratic process as I urge every eligible voter, in Osun, to seize this opportunity to register, update their information, collect their PVCs and actively participate in shaping their future.
“I call on all community leaders, youth groups, religious institutions, and civil society organizations to help in mobilizing the people around them. Let us encourage our brothers and sisters to participate.
“We must all take this civic responsibility seriously. Let every youth, every woman, every man, every artisan, every trader, every professional come out and register.
“Let us do it early, let us do it right. Together, we will build the Osun Central of our dreams as we all see this moment to show our support and loyalty to Governor Ademola Adeleke, the people’s governor”.
