Okpebholo Recalls Suspended  Attorney General

Edo State governor, Monday Okpebholo has recalled the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Samson Osagie, 37 days after he was suspended.

A letter to Osagie by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Umar Ikhilor, dated March 12,  said he was recalled after he was exonerated of financial wrongdoing.

The statement reads in part: “Having considered the report of the investigative panel set up by government to investigate allegations of financial infractions reported against you, which has exonerated you from the said allegations, I write to convey the directive of the governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo that you resume duties as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice with effect from March, 12.”

Reacting to the development, Osagie commended the governor for his frankness.

He promised to remain committed to joining him in ensuring that Edo State recovers all lost ground.
