In a show of appreciation and commitment to national security, personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, and Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, TSSNL, have called on Top-Private Security Services Nigeria Limited to sustain and expand the capacity-building training initiative aimed at strengthening their roles in protecting Nigeria’s oil and gas infrastructure.

The appeal was made during the ongoing capacity-building training for effective security coordination held in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

Speaking at the training, a Deputy Superintendent of Corps, DSC, Inyam Daniel described it as timely and essential, noting that the knowledge gained would significantly boost his ability to perform on the field.

“With this training, the sky will be my limit. Honestly, we need more of this. Continuous training gives us new skills and strengthens what we already know. Every day is a new challenge and we must stay ahead,” he said.

He expressed gratitude to Top-Private Security Services and Tantita Security for organising the programme.

Echoing his sentiments, a Tantita Security Coordinator, Sele John said the training had enhanced their understanding of how to secure oil pipelines more effectively and curb the menace of oil theft.

“This training has been impactful. I am better informed, more aware and more confident in my duties. I give kudos to the organisers for this initiative.

“We are appealing that this training becomes a regular exercise, at least every six months so that we will remain updated and empowered to serve Nigeria better.”

The human cost of oil theft and infrastructural sabotage is enormous, not just in revenue loss to the nation, but in the dangers it poses to lives and the environment.

As the fight against crude oil theft intensifies in the Niger Delta, calls for sustained and hands-on training like this reflect a growing recognition that national security begins with a well-prepared force. The training in Effurun stands as a model of public-private-partnership focused not just on protecting Nigeria’s economic lifelines, but also building the human capital that sustains them.
